How to Apply?

Applicants fulfilling defined eligibility criteria are required to fill in the online application form (in either English or Hindi) at here Applicants who find difficulty in applying online may contact the given E-mail id. Applications submitted in any other format would not be considered for screening. Successful applicants would be informed through email/phone from details provided by them in their applications.

Eligibility Criteria

Institutions and individuals applying under any of the six categories, must have a minimum of 5 years of valid work experience in the field of nutrition working for public interest agenda, in order to qualify.

There is NO age restriction for individual applicants.

Individuals applying for the award should not have any criminal record.

An individual can apply in more than one category of awards if she/he considers herself/himself eligible for it.

For all the categories, nominations can be accepted by the individual herself/himself (self-nomination) or by someone on her/his behalf (nomination by others).

Applications will not be accepted for the Living Legend category as it will be awarded by the eminent jury using their discretion.

The impact of the work by the institutions should be within the geographical boundaries of India.

The institutions applying can be a government, non-government or private entity duly registered in the country.

The Not for Profit entities must be registered in India as Society, Trust, Section 8 (previously Section 25) company or any other (in line with Section 135 of Companies Act 2013). Such an institution must not have been blacklisted by any government agency, donor or international agency.

Evaluation Process

The awardees would be selected through a structured process, analyzing and assessing the relevant contributions and impact of the work of the applicants. The screening model deployed will be simple yet robust, scientifically formulated, with multiple levels of assessments. The veracity of the facts mentioned in the application will be investigated. In case of any discrepancy found in the information provided by the applicant at any level of assessment, the application will be immediately disqualified.


The process would include-

1. Screening and Shortlisting:

Applications will be screened for eligibility, relevance and authenticity of information. A team of experts, including sector specialists, would evaluate the successful entries on the objective parameters.
I. Citation - 15%
II. Award questionnaire - 75%

  • Specific contribution under the applied category- 15%
  • Originality and uniqueness in the approaches adopted- 30%
  • Impact of the work done - 15%
  • Sustainability of the model/approach/interventions-15%

III. Authenticity of the information provided - 10%

2. The Jury Round

The eminent jury will review the list of shortlisted applicants and decide the finalist through mutual consensus. The decision of the jury will be considered as final.

Last Date for Submission

The last date for receipt of applications will be midnight June 25, 2019. Applications received after the due date and time through any mode will not be considered. Only those shortlisted for awards would be contacted.

Awards Date

The awards would be conferred on the day of Outlook : Poshan event to be held on August 3, 2019. in New Delhi. All the Awardees will be invited to Delhi to receive the award. Travel and accommodation costs of the recipients will be borne by the organizer. Details of the Award Function will be issued separately and names of the awardees will be published on our various print and online platforms.

I. Category Applied for: The application should clearly mention under which category they are submitting the application. More than one category can be applied for, in which case a separate form needs to be filled for each category.

II. Citation: Self or nominated by any institution/ individual explaining the contribution of the individual or institution for which s/he/organization should be awarded (not more than 300 words)
